The Emmaus Garden Club extends an invitation to all for a garden tour where you are able to stroll through nine beautiful, interesting and unique gardens. Lunch and a plant sale are included in the price of a ticket and are available only to ticket holders. Take time out from the tour to relax, have a bite to eat and shop for plants. A wide variety of plants will be available, most of which are from members’ gardens. Bring a friend and enjoy a day of gardening delight, rain or shine. The garden tour will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m June 29.
Tickets can be purchased with cash only, at the following locations: Herbein’s in Emmaus, Kospia Farms in Alburtis, Lehigh Valley Home and Garden Center in Allentown, Tilley’s Garden Center in Coopersburg, Edge of the Woods in Orefield or Eagle Point Farm Market & Green House in Trexlertown. The Emmaus Historical Society and Museum, 218 Main St., will be closed until further notice, due to renovations. Call the office at 610-966-6591 to schedule a time to drop off any memorabilia.
“Take a Chance on Fun” raffle tickets are available at all historical society events or call the museum. Choose between two nights at The Bird’s Nest Bed and Breakfast or a midweek night stay at Bear Creek Mountain Resort. The drawing will be held at the Emmaus Heritage Festival Sept. 21.

The Emmaus Community Pool will host two Flick and Floats this summer. Their first one June 28 will feature “The Incredibles.” The movie “Elf” will play July 26, with a Christmas in July theme at the pool. There is an admission cost for children 6 years and older. The event will begin 8 p.m. and swimmers may bring pool inflatables to use during the film.
The Emmaus Recreation and Arts Commission will continue to hold their 2024 Emmaus Summer Entertainment Series in the coming weeks. Their next Tunes in the Triangle concerts will feature Golden Twine June 28 and The Shaun Lally Band July 12, with each concert 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Emmaus Triangle. The following bands will take the stage for concerts in Emmaus Community Park: The Macungie Band June 30, Timewhys July 7, James Supra/Sarah Ayers Band June 14 and The Large Flowerheads June 21. The Emmaus Public Library will offer many activities for all ages this summer, including two sewing workshops 10 a.m. to noon June 28 and July 12. Lisa Marten and the Quilters invite children in grades 4 and up to create reversible printed tote bags. Sewers can also learn how to form checkers or a tic-tac-toe pattern 1 p.m. June 28 or how to make placemats and coasters July 12. Some sewing machines may be available, but bring your own if you can. The library will hold a Climate Change STEM Camp 8:30 a.m. to noon July 8-11 in the Margaret Knoll Gardner Lecture Room. Children in grades 3-6 and their younger siblings must register via one of the methods mentioned above. During this camp, teachers from Citizens’ Climate Lobby will explain climate change and provide suggestions for helping our planet.
Marianne Knipe will lead a pastel landscapes workshop 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 13 and 20. As an international award-winning pastel artist, Knipe will mentor participants on basic pastel techniques. Attendees will begin a piece July 13 and finish it by the end of July 20. This event is open to anyone 16 and over who can attend both workshops and anyone interested must register. Each Wednesday through Aug. 21 will include a summer adventure story time at the library 10:30-11 a.m. Children of all ages may drop by to enjoy stories, adventures, art and fun.
The 2024 Summer Reading Club will run at the library through Aug. 17. Readers of all ages may participate, even if you don’t have a library card and will receive a free book when you sign up.

The Emmaus Main Street Partners will help Hank’s Italian Ice celebrate their official grand opening June 30 at 303 Main St., Emmaus. The celebration will begin 11 a.m., with the ribbon-cutting 11:30 a.m. DJ Sheek will provide music noon to 3 p.m. and Balloons by Cindy will delight guests noon to 1 p.m. The grand opening will include raffles from local businesses and an opportunity to sample some of Hank’s over 50 flavors of Italian and creme ice.
The Emmaus Movie Theater has several events in the coming weeks, ranging from comedy shows to classic films. Comedians Jordan Rock will perform live 7:30 p.m. June 28 and Greg Stone will perform 7:30 p.m. June 29. Round One of the Lehigh Valley’s Funniest Competition will continue June 27 and July 11, 18 and 25. The competitions will begin each night 7:30 p.m., with a different lineup of comedians each night. The theater will mark Fourth of July weekend with BYOB Top Gun double features July 5-7. Come commemorate the 49th birthday of “Jaws” and watch it at the theater July 12-14. Two different comedy events will occur July 20, with “Roasted” (A Comedy Roast Battle Competition) beginning 7 p.m. and Latin Comedy Night: Pina Coco Cherry starting 9:15 p.m.
